As you are preparing for the most beautiful time of the year made of parties, dinners with families, board games, and fragrant biscuits, why not take advantage of the upcoming free time to alternate your favorite Christmas movies with some good fashion documentaries to keep being productive even during the holidays?

I have selected for you the best fashion documentaries – some latest releases and my long-time favorites – to watch during the Holiday season. So get cozy with your cup of tea/hot chocolate and Christmas biscuits for a great session of fashion.

Most of them are available on Netflix, HBO, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime. Just type “fashion” in the search bar on the platforms to find the ones available at the moment and check often because the titles available vary.

In Vogue: The 90s

Disney+ and Hulu released this summer a new docuseries that reveals the inside story of the 90’s most celebrated fashion, pop culture, and style moments as well as iconic covers and supermodels, told by Vogue editors Anna Wintour, Edward Enninful, Tonne Goodman, Hamish Bowles, and many guest stars, including Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and other A-listers of the 90s.

The Supermodels

The Supermodels one of the Fashion Documentaries to watch

Apple TV released in September a long-awaited documentary about the rise of the original supermodels. These are Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington.

Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge

The film, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton, tells the story of the iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, her life, and her eponymous brand. Streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

High & Low: John Galliano

This highly-awaited documentary about John Galliano premiered was released last year. Directed by Kevin Macdonald’s, the documentary focuses on the rise and fall of the British designer. It includes appearances from Sidney Toledano, Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Charlize Theron, Amanda Harlech, PenĂ©lope Cruz, and Kate Moss.

Unzipped

This cult documentary from 1995 focuses on the iconic New York City designer Isaac Mizrahi and his 1994 fall collection. 

Discovering –

Amazon Prime has a series of short. These are less than 30-minute documentaries about Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, and Tom Ford. A good way to learn about fashion designers in a short time.
