The Milan Fashion Week is here and as usual every fashion addicted wants to partecipate.

If you can I highly suggest you work a few days for a brand on a fashion show backstage. Here you’ll learn what really takes to work in fashion: you have to be speedy, organised and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

But f you don’t wanna work here’s  8 events you must attend that will take place between the 19th and 25th February.

FRONT ROW AT THE MARANGONI FASHION SCHOOL

The Marangoni Fashion School every year organizes amazing fashion panels FREE for young creatives and fashion entrepreneurs.

This year you’ll be able to attend multiple interesting conversations with amazing fashion experts, this is a huge opportunity not only to learn more about the fashion world but to do some networking and to meet other amazing people who works or want to work in fashion.

If you’ll choose only one event you must attend the review of the Gucci fashion show, the chance to have a deepful analysis of one of the most misunderstood fashion brand will be really useful for your professional growth.

OPEN DAYS

Most of the Milan Fashion Schools in this period open their doors to future students.

An amazing opportunity to know better the programmes, the teachers and the other students. Open days allow people to understand better how fashion schools work, if you’re interested about a particular course take the chance and go ask questions.

If the school you’re into has no open day don’t get discouraged and ask for a private meeting with one of the teacher.

WHITE SHOW MILANO

If you’re already writing for a fashion magazine or you’re a pro fashion blogger you could try to ask for a White Show ticket. The White Show is one of the biggest event during the Milan Fashion Week and it could be a worderful occasion to understand better how the industry works.

During the event, several brands and fashion designers will present their creations for the upcoming season. You’ll be able to see and touch wonderful dresses and to hear about the brands’ phylosophy and values.

With your ticket, you’ll have access to the White Show app that will guide you through the area of Tortona where the event takes place.

Fashion Hub Market – DISCOVERING NEW DESIGNERS

As a stylist, my job is to be always updated with new talents and designers. This year I suggest you attend the Fashion Hub, the event will take place at the Science & Tecnology Leonardo da Vinci National Museum you’ll find 12 young fashion creatives and their creations.

This is a huge occasion where you’ll be able to know and interact with young fashion designers. I encourage you to ask questions and be really open to understand what it takes to be successful in the fashion industry.

Learning from who has already achieved results like this and watching what they’re doing will be an incredible example for you.

You can’t miss the chance!

THE NEXT GREEN TALENTS 2019

Another super cool occasion to see young designers work is The Next Green Talents.

Vogue and Yoox have paired to give us an amazing experience where you can learn about sustainability through the work of young creatives.

This show every year is one of the most interesting to see and this year topic I think is a powerful one. We cannot think fashion without worrying about our planet and it’s so cool to see how young fashion designers are starting to move in this direction.

EXHIBITION Le Tipe Umane – Galleria d’arte Tommaso Calabro

Fashion and art have always met since they’ve born, that’s why I can’t recommend this exhibition enough.

This year you’ll be able to see Andrea Incontri’s drawings. He’s the creative director of Tod’s Man. He kept publishing these drawings on his Instagram account for a long time and now you can see them all in this exhibition. You’ll be able to undestrand how Andrea sees the woman nature. The exhibition is called “Le Tipe Umane” and it’s so fascinating to be able to see fashion and art mixed together.

The drawings have all been realized on his smartphone and you can’t miss it!

Tod’s is a wonderful brand, that knows how to properly use social media and communication and this exhibition proves that. It’s not Art, not Fashion, it’s a new mix, fresh an cool and you have to visit it.

THE COSTUME INSTITUTE: PRESENTATION OF THE EXHIBITION “CAMP: NOTES ON FASHION”

If you can get your hands off one the invitation to this private event you have to go!
There the theme for the next MET GALA at the MET Museum in New York will be presented. This year will be all about kitsch, the word Camp describes this attitude both in fashion and art to use kitsch elements without worrying about things like less is more, exc.. It’s the love for the artificial world and I can’t wait to see what dress will be presented that night.

The presentation will be in Piazza Cesare Beccaria 8. Will I see you there?

Moncler Genius Building

Moncler opens its collection to the public on Sunday Feb 24th. If you want to see the new collection by Pierpaolo Piccioli & Liya Kebede, Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni for Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino for Moncler Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM, Richard Quinn, Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, Palm Angels Francesco Ragazzi and Poldo Dog Couture, register here

This is the end of the list, the Milan Fashion Week each year is an extraordinary event and there are lots of things to see but these 8 ones are a must!

Attending this events can be useful also for people who already work in fashion, usually the fashion week for us is just a mix of super caothic days. Sometimes we, more than anyone else, need a pause.

Rediscovering the city and what’s cool and young without having to worry about trends and catwalks, just enjoying fashion, is something I highly encourage this year.

Today everyone can enjoy the fashion weeks, there are lots of influencers and starts to meet and lots of content to keep an eye on so what are you waiting for?

Buy your tickets and use these days properly.
