Gucci Beauty is revamping its cosmetics lineup.
On May 4, Gucci — in partnership with Coty — will debut a new lipstick collection on Gucci.com and in select New York boutiques, according to its website. The beauty lineup comes nine months after the debut of the @guccibeauty Instagram account, which suggested a possible makeup relaunch for the luxury house. Gucci first launched a beauty line in November 2014 under Procter & Gamble’s prestige sector. In 2016, P&G sold most of its beauty portfolio to Coty
Polimoda Offers 14 Scholarships in Collaboration With LVMH
Polimoda is offering 14 scholarships to attend the prestigious Leather+ program, developed in collaboration with LVMH’s Institut des Métiers d’Excellence. In 2017, the IME teamed for the first time with an Italian institution by choosing Polimoda to train leather goods artisans.
The students will have the chance to embark on an immersive program, including 500 hours in class and a 400-hour internship at one of the fashion houses under the LVMH umbrella. In addition, IME will organize a 40-hour master class, which will include educational visits to the group’s companies and a focus on the leathergoods industry’s vocabulary in English and French. Puma is growing faster than Adidas and Nike
Puma said that the first quarter of 2019 was its best yet with its revenue and operating profit reaching record highs. The German sportswear group has been growing faster than its bigger German rival Adidas and market leader Nike thanks to its savvy social media campaigns and partnerships with Selena Gomez and Rihanna.
Balenciaga will pass the 1 billion euro
On Wednesday the luxury conglomerate Kering said that in 2019, Balenciaga will “substantially” pass the 1-billion-euro mark. That would bring it neck-and-neck with Kering’s third-largest brand, Bottega Veneta, which made about €1.1 billion in 2018 (after several periods of decline). Saint Laurent is nearing the €2 billion mark with sales of €1.7 billion, while Gucci is leaps and bounds beyond them having surpassed €8 billion in sales in 2018. In fact, Balenciaga’s entire business is about in line with Gucci’s online business, which is expected to surpass €1 billion soon.
