With 101K Instagram followers, a superb style and a very interesting career in fashion, I am happy to introduce you to Estelle Chemouny, 29, new Parisian, personal stylist and fashion consultant. I asked her to tell us how she started her career in fashion, what a day in her life looks life with two jobs: influencers and personal stylists and her advice for those who want to enter the fashion industry.
Enjoy it!
Could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Estelle Chemouny, I am a 29 years old French girl. New Parisian as I moved here one year ago, I was living in London for almost 10 years and I am originally from the South of France.
What did you study?
If I tell you, you won’t believe it! I first had my “baccalaureat” ( A-level) in science and decided afterwards to study Arabic language. Very very far from Fashion, but as Fashion as always been a big part of my life I did not even thought it could be useful to actually go to a fashion school
How did you get in fashion and when and how did you start your career as personal stylist/fashion consultant?
Very naturally, I moved to London let’s say accidentally (I went for a weekend and stayed here for 10 years), during my first weeks there I have worked as a kebab waitress,
Could you tell us what does a personal stylist do?
A personal stylist basically prepares the wardrobe for her clients. There are different situations, I have clients who asked me to reorganize their closets, make them a lookbook to know what to wear and just don’t stress in the morning, I also dress them for events, go shopping with them, make their suitcase, I do a lot of things
You’re also a fashion influencer with a superb style. Does Instagram help you to find new clients? What did you start first, Instagram or your personal styling career?
Your life seems very exciting and you have two jobs as influencer and stylist. What does a typical week look like for you?
It is never the same, especially during fashion weeks when I run like a headless chicken! Basically, I wake up, I drink 1 coffee, I check my emails, I drink another one, I go to the gym if it’s not too cold outside ( so you can imagine I am never going right now!) I get ready, I start my meetings with brands or Pr Agencies and I try to shoot like 15 min per day with my husband who is my photographer. I rarely go out because I like to wake up fresh and full of energy ( but the real reason is I do not drink alcohol and get bored easily!) – At the end of the day, I love to get a very early dinner and watch movies! Yes
What do you like the most about your jobs?
It does not feel like a job! This is a dream job! Can you imagine that the brands I was dreaming about as a little girl are dressing me on a daily basis!

What interests you most about what is happening in the fashion industry today?
Lately, I am very into what are the inspirations behind the clothes, there is a real story behind each design. Last week I had the chance to be a part of a talk between Olivier Rousteing and Loic Prigent, the Balmain designer was explaining what was the idea behind each piece of his Couture collection. We see the final step of a long process but knowing how and why make the clothes even for interesting.
What are your tips for girls who want to get into the fashion industry?
No gut, no glory! If you want it just go and get it! And if you meet people trying to bring you down along the way just leave them off the road!
