There are two different schools of thought about work in the fashion world:
- Some people think that everyone is like  Miranda Priestley in “The Devil Wears Prada” , hard work, few rewards and cut-throat competition;
- Some others think that the fashion world is fascinating, all about glamour, events, parties and fashion show.
The truth is that they are both myths. It is not really so ruthless as they say and it is not just about the glamour. Most fashion companies want to create a good rep by improving employee relations and making working hours more pleasant and comfortable .
Did you know that the biggest companies  provide free additional services within their offices?
Gilt.com an  e-commerce company, for example, provides employees with exclusive access to private sales of their favorite brands like Missoni or Levis, up to 70% off, there is a in-office game room and employees can enjoy (always for free) in-office massages. Yahoo Style has on-site fitness centers with yoga, cardio kick-boxing, pilates, and golf classes and company transport to and from work/residence are paid by the company. Other companies offer free lunches in restaurants, subscriptions to gyms, bar service 24/7, library in the office and some allow you to bring your own pet.
Not only Google, then, offers a fun environment for their employees, even fashion companies are gearing up to entice people to work harder, feeling happy and well rewarded. All these additional components do encourage people to prefer a company rather than another and make the environment of the fashion world 2 4even better đ
