Condé Nast hasn’t yet released information on the specific publications, departments, and roles it will recruit for the UK and US Summer Internship Program 2026, but it is expected to be revealed at the application day opening on December 22. Last year, the company had open intern positions for Editorial, Commerce, Events, Legal, and more across several publications, so likely it will offer internships at several departments and titles as well for 2026.

This is the perfect example that the fashion industry never sleeps and the hiring process doesn’t stop even during the holidays! I often tell my students and readers that while the festive season may not look like the ideal time to apply for fashion internships and jobs, it actually is.

So, if your Christmas wish is to break into fashion, this is your moment. Sending applications two days before Christmas wasn’t probably in your plans, but I highly encourage you to apply as soon as they open and not wait until the new year. The industry rewards those who take action fast and show early initiative!

Tips to prepare for the Condé Nast UK and US Summer Internship Program 2026

Luckily, knowing that applications are opening soon gives you precious time to prepare strategically.

Internship programs like this are highly competitive. On average, when a company posts an internship online, it can receive 500+ applications. Condé Nast is one of the most prestigious fashion and media groups in the world, so it’s safe to assume the applicant pool for the Condé Nast UK and US Summer Internship Program 2026 will be extremely large from day one.

This means that submitting a basic application is not enough.

Your best chance to stand out is to prepare before December 22 and approach your application like a future fashion professional – not like a student sending their first resume – and we’ve got just the right tips!

Even though Condé Nast hasn’t yet disclosed the specific departments and roles, there are several powerful steps you can take now.

1. Prepare a Strong Base for Your CV

You should never send a generic resume — especially not to Condé Nast. However, before applications open, you can already prepare a solid CV base that you’ll later tailor to the specific internship.

Focus on:

  • Branding your CV layout
Use a clean, editorial-style layout that visually aligns with Condé Nast’s world: minimal, polished, modern.
  • Education and experience sections written strategically
    Add bullet points that highlight:
    • Relevant coursework
    • Academic, school, or personal projects
    • Previous internships or part-time roles (if any)
Always focus on results, skills, and measurable impact, not just tasks.
  • A clear skills section
Include both hard skills (Excel, Canva, CMS tools, WordPress, Google analytics, Adobe Photoshop…) and soft skills (organization, communication, adaptability…).

You’ll then be able to quickly customize this base CV once the exact internship descriptions go live.

Inside my
Break Into the Fashion Industry course, I teach you exactly how to build a fashion-approved resume — with recruiter-backed templates designed to stand out.

2. Build a Portfolio (Even If You’re a Student)

I can already foresee that many candidates will only send their resume and maybe a cover letter – but you, Glam Observer student/reader can do more than that to move your application on the top of the recruiter’s list!

For Condé Nast internships, a portfolio can be a game-changer, especially for roles in:

  • Editorial
  • Styling
  • Digital
  • Events
  • Creative and content teams

And no — applying for an internship does not mean you can’t show experience.

Recruiters don’t expect years of professional work. What they do want to see is:

  • Initiative
  • Understanding of how fashion media works
  • Proof that you’ve taken steps beyond the classroom

Specifically at Condé Nast, they’ll appreciate it if you showcase your knowledge (even basic) of how a fashion magazine comes to life, how editorials are produced, how clothes are sourced for shoots, etc.

That knowledge, transferred into a short experience, can come from self-created projects.

Examples of One-Day Projects You Can Start Right Now

👗 Assistant Stylist for a Day

Imagine you’re assisting on a fictional editorial shoot for Vogue. Your task is to:

  • Interpret a brief
  • Research brands and designers
  • Style a look
  • Build a pull letter

Inside my Fashion Internship Simulator, you complete an Assistant Editorial Stylist for a Day project for Vogue Italia, where you learn:

  • Moodboard interpretation
  • Look curation
  • Drafting professional pull letters
  • Sample tracking

This project can be presented on your CV and portfolio as hands-on editorial experience.

📝 Editor-in-Chief for a Week

Create a fictional magazine issue (or mini publication) using Canva and AI.

In the Fashion Internship Simulator, you step into the role of an editor-in-chief and work on:

  • Defining the issue theme
  • Curating the cover
  • Selecting the masthead
  • Building editorial and advertising pages

These two projects are incredibly powerful because they show:

  • Creative thinking
  • Commercial awareness
  • Understanding of magazine workflows

They are thus your winning ticket to stand out in front of other applicants, and you cannot go wrong with them because they are perfect to apply for magazine internships – even if it’s not for editorial roles. The goal is to showcase initiative and familiarity with the fashion media ecosystem.

3. Connect with Condé Nast Recruiters and Professionals on LinkedIn

When the Condé Nast UK & US Summer Internship Program 2026 opens on December 22, applications will go through the official careers page or LinkedIn.

But strong candidates don’t stop there.

Something I always recommend to my students as a follow up is to send a cold email or message to a recruiter or professional working in your desired department.

Strategic networking is indeed one of the most effective follow-up strategies you can do.

What You Can Do Now

  1. Go to LinkedIn and search:
    • “Condé Nast”
    • “Condé Nast Britain” (for UK applicants)
  2. Click on People and look for:
    • HR professionals
    • Talent Acquisition Managers
    • Editors, digital managers, art directors, or other professionals in your target department
  3. Follow them to save their profiles.
  4. After you apply, send a connection request with a short, polite note, for example:
“Hello ___, I recently applied for the ___ Summer Internship 2026 at Condé Nast and I’m eager to be considered. I would appreciate to connect with you to stay in touch and follow your career. Thank you!”

This doesn’t replace the official application — it supports it by showing initiative and genuine interest.

The Condé Nast UK and US Summer Internship Program 2026 is not just a summer experience — it’s a potential gateway into fashion and media careers.

What will truly set you apart isn’t luck, timing, or sending your application at the last minute. It’s:

  • Preparation
  • Initiative
  • Strategic positioning
