How I’m planning my wedding

I’ve always looked at brides with astonishment and never thought about my day before. Because for some strange reason, as much as I am a positive person when I think of great events, I become anxious that something can happen and that mine will never arrive. It was like this for my graduation or the day I got engaged and that’s how I look at my wedding now, something I still can’t believe is happening to me. I can’t believe is my turn now. But it is and I want to enjoy every second of this important moment of our lives and so, this summer, we officially started with the wedding preparations.

We started by choosing the date because we knew the first thing we had to book was the venue. 2020 is apparently a super popular year for weddings, but thankfully our favorite location was still free for our date.

After booking the church and the location I felt immediately more relaxed and so I started taking care of all the other things, including my favorite part: the wedding dress!

Even though the short wedding dresses vintage styletrend is growing, especially for the party, I am more of a traditional person and I prefer long and elegant royal wedding gowns. I’m going to wear just one dress for my wedding.

I started looking for wedding dresses onlinelike I do for anything else nowadays. I researched the wedding dress brands and started following them all on Instagram. I created an Instagram collection where I’m saving all my favorite dresses. Finally, yesterday I started trying on wedding dresses and I was proudly showing the list I worked on for months to facilitate the search even for the girls in the store who helped me.

Pinterest is my favorite place for everything else: floral decorations and various arrangements. To tell the truth, I created a private wedding Pinterest board the same evening that I got engaged! I’ve saved all the images I like to understand the style of our wedding. Based on the saved photos I realized what kind of location we had to look for, which flowers I will have to buy and the various arrangements.

I have also created an iPhone note shared with my fiancé where we save the various ideas for the day.

Managing a marriage at a distance is not easy: we currently live in Milan and will get married in the south of Italy, but as a super organized and a control freak person, I created a wedding-to-do-list with monthly deadlines to organize everything perfectly and with little stress while waiting for the big day.
