After New York and London, it’s Milan fashion week’s turn now. From September 17th to 23rd the Italian fashion capital take spotlight and everyone is waiting for the new collections of the leading fashion brands. There is also a lot of space for emerging designers and sustainable fashion. While the fashion shows are accessible only by invitation (or you can try to get a standing after everyone has entered;)) there are still interesting fashion events open to the public that you can’t miss out on as a fashion enthusiast. Prepare your agenda and don’t miss a single one.

Below a list of all the events and exhibitions open to the public during Milan fashion week September 2019.

  • Fashion Hub Market, at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci (Sept. 17th to 23rd )
  • Salone white, dedicated to womenswear and accessories of emerging brands: White takes place in four locations in Via Tortona (Sept. 19th to 22nd )
  • Rosanna Schiaffino e la moda: abiti da star, open to the public for several months at Palazzo Morando until September 29th
  • The exhibition curated by Wes Anderson and Juman Malouf Il Sarcofago di Spitzmaus e altri tesori at Fondazione Prada (Sept. 20th to Jan. 13th )from September 20 to January 13;
  • The photo exhibition open to the public Milano e la moda: omaggio a Gian Paolo Barbieri (Sept. 17th to 30th )
  • At Palazzo Reale the Louis Vuitton Time Capsule Exhibition free admissions everyday 10AM-8PM (Sept. 20th to Oct 20th )
  • Milan Fashion Club Pop-Up Store, a space opening event dedicated to young talents and the new proposals of international fashion that aims to democratize access to the fashion system for emerging brands from all over the world (open to the public from (Sept. 16th to 22nd )
  • The Bice restaurant in the heart of the Quadrilatero in via Borgospesso will see the special setting of Etro with the maison’s fabrics and furnishings, including tablecloths in the historic Jais prints of 1981 and Spring of 1993 that will alternate in the eight days of the week of fashion (Sept 17th-23rd).
  • Every day from Sept 18th to 21st two workshop sessions 10.30-11.00AM and 11.0011.30AM at the & Other Stories store in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II on the theme of recycling in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni.
  • The big screen in Corso Vittorio Emanuele at the corner of Piazza San Babila for the streaming of fashion shows
  • At Corso Como 10 opens the first edition of A New Awareness where sustainable fashion is at the center of a new conversation between companies and the public with the sustainable proposals of Fashion revolution, Wrad Living, Bethany Williams, Helen Kirkum, Duran Lantink, Awareness infinitum, Detox consortium, Manteco, Marini industrie and Com.i.stra. A project by Sara Maino Sozzani with Fashion revolution Italy, School of management of Politecnico di Milano and Wrad living. (Sept. 19th and 20th 11AM-7PM)
  • Vestiaire Collective pop up store at the Tearose boutique in Via Croce Rossa. You can buy vintage clothes from Valentino, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent … in the name of sustainability (Sept 19th-23rd 11AM-7PM)
  • IED will host Fa / Re for three days in collaboration with Orsola de Castro, founder with Carry Somers of the global Fashion Revolution communication campaign. A project dedicated to creative reuse, from fashion upcycling and beyond: an exhibition part and a workshop in which everyone will be able to experience reuse in a conscious way. Via Pompeo Leoni 3 10 am to 6 pm for 3 days. Opening on September 18th at 5PM-10PM
