As I always say on Glam Observer, networking is probably the most crucial factor for a successful career in fashion. Let’s be honest,  if you know about a new job opportunity, a new press presentation, fashion show or other events and projects you’ll for sure tell your peers first. So the more people you know, the better. As it’s true that today you can network offline by reaching out fashion professionals through LinkedIn and Instagram and establishing great relationships, in-person connections remain more effective. The in-person contact is on another level, that’s why I think it’s important to add offline experiences to what I offer online through the articles, podcast, Instagram posts and stories, newsletter, our facebook group and consultations call or emails.
After the first fashion panel that happened last month and open to everyone (but free for our members), on Saturday Nov 17th I put together amazing women for our first fashion Networking Breakfast reserved for our members only and free of course!
It was an amazing Saturday morning in Milan, filled with coffee, matcha cappuccino, croissants and most of all networking. Our members who together are part of our special private Facebook group had the chance to meet in person and establish deeper relationships, sharing career updates, emails and more!
They are all amazing girls who want to establish a successful career in fashion, students and girls who already work in the industry or who want to launch their own brand. I’m a big fan of collaboration over competition, that’s why I created the Glam Observer membership with the aim of creating a community in an industry that it’s not so easy to get in at the beginning.
It looks like everyone in fashion wants to keep their own contacts, knowledge and experiences for themselves as it’s a big secret which is so contradictory today when we are always connected to share every moment of our life.
What I loved the most of our fashion networking breakfast was the sense of community and the willingness to share news and updates and the supportive feeling. I was amazed to hear that one of our members got an interview for Dolce & Gabbana thanks to our CV template! I’m so happy to help you get into the fashion industry!
Not all the members could attend the event, but I’m still planning the next ones so I hope to meet all of you soon 🙂
Join our membership program to attend our events, to have access to exclusive articles, our facebook group, to get the free bag and the box and much more!
